When overlooked, even the best heating/cooling system can cost you by wasting energy. How much? In Winnipeg homes and businesses, our heating, cooling and ventilation equipment all get a good workout throughout the year. Clogged filters, dirty coils and heat exchangers, leaky ductwork, and unserviced motors and electrical components can reduce heating and cooling efficiency by up to 25 percent!
Simply replacing damaged parts as they fail can actually create situations where the initial problem is not properly addressed. Component failure should be looked at with a “cause and effect” diagnostic procedure that can best be accomplished with a systematic and thorough checklist by a professional HVAC contractor.
What to Look for When Hiring an HVAC Service Company
When choosing a company to maintain your system, look for one that designs, installs, and services the type of system you have and not necessarily the Brand. Full service companies also tend to be up to date on the latest advances in the industry.
Besides checking that liability insurance and workers’ compensation policies are in place, ask for referrals or check with neighbors, friends, and family who have used the company in the past. Find out:
- How well did their system run under the company’s care?
- Were the service people punctual when they called in for service?
- Did the installers or technicians leave the working area clean?
- How quickly did the contractor respond to your emergency?
- Check their website and on line ratings with your local BBB Google and Facebook.
A quality provider will have an emergency number that’s staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week including holidays and enough technicians to respond when the weather is bad and the call volume is high.

Having both Furnace and Air Conditioning Annual Maintenance done at the same time will save you both money and the inconvenience of making a second appointment and wasting your time. This however should be done during the month of August or September since our days in Winnipeg begin to cool off in October. Once below 10c or for us oldies 50f, The A/C cannot easily be completely serviced.
We would be pleased to be your Heating and Air conditioning Service provider.
